Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers to the questions we get most often, grouped so you can jump straight to the part that matters. If your question is not here, the contact form reaches a real person and we usually reply within one business day.

Finding the right part

How do I know a part fits my model?

Open the category for your model family, for example RC Drone Parts, then choose the brand and model group. Every listing names the models it fits and, where the manufacturer publishes one, the original part reference. If you are not sure, send us the model number and a photo of the part you are replacing and we will confirm before you order.

My model has several versions – how do I tell which one I have?

Check the label inside the battery bay or on the retail box. Many models keep the same name across revisions but change motors, gears, or camera modules, so the version code matters more than the name. The code is usually printed next to the model number, for example a suffix such as “V2”, “R”, or a four-digit batch number.

Are your parts original or compatible?

Both, and the listing always says which. Original manufacturer parts are described as OEM. Compatible replacements are described as compatible and list the dimensions or connector type so you can compare them with the part in your hand.

Do you publish manufacturer part numbers?

Wherever the manufacturer publishes one, yes. It appears in the specification table on the product page. If you are holding an old part with a number printed on it, paste that number into the search box at the top of the page – cross-references usually land on the right listing.

The part I need is not listed. Can you get it?

Often, yes. Send the model, the version code, and a photo of the broken part. If we can source it we will add it to the catalog and email you the link; if we cannot, we will tell you that straight away rather than leave you waiting.

Are screws, plugs, and hardware included?

Only where the listing says so. Most motors ship with mounting screws, most propellers ship as a set, and bare boards and shells usually ship on their own. The “In the box” section of each listing is the authoritative answer.

Compatibility and fit

Will a part from a newer version fit my older model?

Not always. Outside dimensions often stay the same while the mounting pattern, connector, or gear pitch changes between revisions. Compare the part number and the photos first, or ask us – a two-minute check is cheaper than return shipping.

Do left and right parts differ?

Frequently. Suspension arms, chassis braces, motor mounts, and some landing gear are handed. When a part is handed, the listing title says left or right and the photos show the mounting side.

Can I use a part from another brand?

Only when the dimensions and mounting points match. Some hardware is genuinely interchangeable – bearings, shafts, connectors, and standard screws – but electronics usually are not, because pinouts and firmware differ.

What do the connector names on batteries and ESCs mean?

They describe the plug family and size, not the voltage. JST, XT30, XT60, T-plug, and EC3 are the ones we stock most. Measure the plug on your existing battery or ESC and match it; adapters work, but every adapter adds a resistance point and a failure point.

Ordering and payment

Which payment methods can I use?

The methods available for your address appear at checkout and depend on your destination and order total. For large or bulk orders where you need a different arrangement, contact us before ordering and we will work it out.

Is sales tax added?

Tax, where it applies, is calculated at checkout from your shipping address and shown as a separate line before you pay. The price you see on a product page is the item price, not the delivered total.

Can I use a discount code?

Yes. Enter it in the coupon field during checkout and apply it before payment – the order total updates immediately. One code per order.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Contact us as soon as possible. We can usually change or cancel an order before it is packed. Once a package is on its way, the return process applies instead.

Do you take bulk or wholesale orders?

Yes. Clubs, repair shops, schools, and resellers are welcome. Send us the parts and quantities you need and we will quote, including combined shipping.

Do I need an account to order?

No, guest checkout is available. An account makes it easier to track orders, re-order the same part, and keep a record of which version fits which model.

How do I check the status of my order?

Use Order History if you have an account, or the tracking link in your shipping confirmation email. If tracking has not moved for three business days, tell us and we will chase the carrier.

Shipping

How quickly will my order ship?

Orders are packed and shipped within 1–2 business days. Orders placed before 2 p.m. ET are usually processed the same day. See Shipping & Delivery for transit times by destination.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, to most countries. Options and costs for your address are shown at checkout. Import duties, taxes, and customs fees are the recipient's responsibility and are not included in the order total.

Can I combine two orders into one package?

Usually. Place the second order, then message us with both order numbers before either one ships and we will combine them and refund the duplicate shipping charge.

Do you ship to PO boxes and APO/FPO addresses?

Ground services generally can. Some express services require a street address, and oversized items such as full frames or large hulls may not qualify. If a service is not available for your address, checkout will not offer it.

How do I track my package?

We email a tracking number when your order ships, and you can follow the status from Order History. Tracking can take up to 24 hours to show its first scan.

My tracking says delivered but nothing arrived. What now?

Check the usual spots first – porch, garage, mail room, neighbors – then contact us within 7 days. We will open a claim with the carrier and, while it is investigated, send a replacement so your build is not held up.

Returns and warranty

What if the part arrives damaged or is not what I ordered?

Contact us within 7 days with your order number and a photo. We arrange a replacement or refund, including shipping. Full details are in Returns & Warranty.

Can I return a part I no longer need?

Yes, within 30 days of delivery, provided it is unused and in its original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer in that case, and there is no restocking fee.

Can I exchange instead of getting a refund?

Yes. Tell us which part you need instead and we will reserve it. The replacement ships as soon as the return is scanned by the carrier, so you are not waiting for the full round trip.

Do you offer a warranty?

Defects within 30 days are handled directly by us. After that, the manufacturer's warranty applies and we will help you file the claim and supply spare parts where possible.

Are batteries covered by the warranty?

Packs are covered for manufacturing defects within 30 days. Crash damage, water damage, over-discharge, and puffing caused by misuse are not covered – those are signs of how the pack was used, not how it was built.

Do I need the original packaging to return something?

For change-of-mind returns, yes – the part must be resalable. For a defective or incorrectly shipped part, no. Pack it so it cannot be crushed in transit and we will take it from there.

An item is missing from my order.

Check the packing slip first: multi-part orders sometimes ship in more than one box with separate tracking. If something is genuinely missing, contact us within 7 days and we will ship it out.

Batteries and charging

What storage voltage should I use?

3.80–3.85 V per cell, which is roughly 50–60% of a full charge. Store packs there if they will sit for more than a week. Leaving a pack fully charged for months is the fastest way to lose capacity.

My pack is puffed. Is it still safe to use?

No. A swollen pack has vented internally and can ignite under load or while charging. Discharge it slowly if you can do so safely, then dispose of it at a battery recycling point – never in household trash.

What charge rate is safe?

1C unless the label says otherwise, so a 1500 mAh pack charges at 1.5 A. Higher rates shorten pack life even when the manufacturer allows them, and they demand a charger you trust.

Can I leave a battery plugged into the model?

No. Unplug it after every flight or run. A plugged-in pack slowly drains through the ESC and can be ruined in a couple of weeks, and a shorted connector is a fire risk.

Do lithium batteries affect shipping?

Sometimes. Packs ship by the services allowed for dangerous goods, and a few destinations restrict air transport. If the service you selected cannot carry a battery, we will contact you with the alternatives before shipping.

Setup and troubleshooting

My receiver will not bind to the transmitter.

Put the transmitter in bind mode first, then power the receiver with the bind plug installed, and keep the two at least three feet apart – sitting on top of each other is the most common cause of a failed bind. If it still will not bind, confirm the receiver is the correct protocol for your radio, not just the correct shape.

The ESC beeps but the motor does not turn.

That pattern is nearly always throttle range or throttle trim. Drop the trim to zero, recalibrate the throttle range, and check that the transmitter is in the right model memory. A single beep every two seconds usually means no signal; a musical startup tone followed by silence means the ESC is armed and waiting for throttle.

One motor spins the wrong way.

On a brushless setup, swap any two of the three motor wires. Do it at the ESC, not by resoldering the motor, and check rotation with the propellers off.

How do I update firmware on a flight controller or ESC?

Use the manufacturer's own configurator and follow its version notes – firmware is not interchangeable between chip families even when the board looks identical. Back up your settings first; most updates erase them.

Can you help me diagnose a part over email?

Yes, and a short video or three clear photos save a lot of back-and-forth. Tell us the model, the version code, what changed just before the fault appeared, and what you have already tried.
